The Zen of Cascading Style Sheets

After the excesses of designers gone wild with table based killer web-pages, I welcomed the austere simplicity of most CSS based pages. I appreciated the change right up to the time that the new look seemed to become the norm. Contrast is refreshing, but contrast is impossible without variety.

There is nothing about using CSS that requires a page to have a particular appearance style. Perhaps it is time for web design fashion to shift again.
