The Learning Curve

New tricks for an old dog.

Forcing the issue

It took all of fifteen minutes to add the Google Analytics java script snippet to the 22 pages of the Little Leather Library site. Now it is simply a matter of waiting to accumulate a usable amount of data.

The only other change, beside fixing a few broken links, was to add a useless query (*.html?1) to each of the internal links. I did this to force page reloads in the unlikely chance there were any number of return visitors.

Without the forced reloads, the returning visitors would mostly browse from their cached copies of the pages, and it would be a while before they loaded and triggered the Google Analytics java script.

At least, this is the way I think it works.
