The Learning Curve

New tricks for an old dog.

A design use for html tables

I spent the weekend learning all about MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) . . . or at least learning a lot more than I knew before . . . and I discovered an amazing fact. Many email clients, particularly web-based email clients such as Yahoo! email, do not render CSS style directives very well at all.

I had to resort to html table tags for the layout design of multi-part html/text emails.

I also came to the conclusion that embedding images in MIME emails for use in html layout was, not totally but mostly, a waste of time.

Oy.
