SEO clues from Google AdSense

I just looked at a web page of mine that has Google ads displayed through its AdSense publisher program.

The ads displayed on the page had absolutely no relevance to the contents of the page, which was mostly graphics.

I am not aware of any internal connection between the Google AdSense server mechanism and Google’s basic search index, but I assume they use similar technology to determine the relevance of a page.

Bottom line is, I suppose, is if the Google AdSense server technology cannot understand the contents of a web page, Google’s search engine can’t either.
