The Learning Curve

New tricks for an old dog.

The local weather forecast last night called for freezing rain to arrive before rush hour this morning.  The TV stations had their junior reporters in position by 4:30 am, to give on-the-scene road condition reports during the morning commute.

The freezing rain was unaccountably delayed.  It had not arrived by 8:00 am, yet the live reporting went on as scheduled.  No doubt it was newsworthy to report the  dry and uneventful road conditions, but the live segments were unintentionally hilarious.

Seeing live television coverage of clear pavement and smooth traffic while the professional journalists discussed the slightly damp weather conditions amused me for some reason.
