Top Federal income tax brackets 1950 – 2011

The basic information for historic individual income tax rates came from the National Taxpayers Union, but the graph is my own. It speaks for itself. I especially like the 39.6% during the Clinton years. It looks so much less than 40%.

The 62 year average is 59.7%.
